Swedish Relaxation Massage

A relaxing full body therapeutic massage. It can be light to medium pressure based on your preference.  The primary goals of Swedish massage are to increase circulation and promote relaxation. The amount of pressure applied is usually light to medium using five primary techniques:  effleurage (long flowing strokes), petrissage (kneading), friction, vibration, and tapotement (repetitive tapping).

Deep Tissue Massage

This is a strong full body massage and is more focused on specific areas.  Massage techniques involve applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues in order to break up scar tissue and physically break down muscle bands of painful, rigid tissue that can disrupt circulation and cause pain, limited range of motion, and inflammation.

Hot Stone Massage*

Basalt volcanic stones are heated and used with massage oil to relieve tension and soreness.  An excellent massage that soothes the body and the mind, relaxes deep tissue muscles, increases circulation and improves energy flow.

Medical Massage

An outcome-based massage, primarily the application of a specific treatment targeted to the specific problem with a diagnosis and is administered after a thorough assessment/evaluation with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment. Excellent for pre and post surgeries as well as chronic conditions.

Trigger Point Massage

A session involves deactivating trigger points that may cause local pain or referred pain and other sensations, such as headaches, in other parts of the body. Manual pressure, vibration or other treatment is applied to these points to relieve myofascial pain.  This is part of a full body massage and pressure can be adjusted to your preference.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese form of alternative therapy.  The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”. Reiki is a subtle form of energy work using guided life force energy.  Energy medicine aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks. Improving the flow of energy around the body can enable relaxation, reduce pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness.

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation & Passive Stretching

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation is a stretching technique that combines muscle contraction with passive stretching to improve flexibility and range of motion.  This movement breaks down the fascia and lactic acid build up that hinders movement and creates the space for full range of motion.  The client is engaged in resistance during session.  During Passive stretching the client relaxes while the stretches are done by the therapist.  Both types of stretching allows you to increase your range of motion and keep your body moving correctly.
